History

Falcons and falconry are traditionally connected to Valkenburg and its castle. Since the middle ages Falcons where used because of their ingenious hunting skills. From this area falconry has been spread around the whole of Europe.

Present

Nowadays the fascinations about falcons and other birds of prey is still alive: the birds preying high up in the air leave a big impression one everyone below. Contact with birds of prey is not very logical. Birds of prey fled from humans, because they think humans are their biggest enemy of them. On the television everyone sees the awesome mystical hovering from eagles, the high speed wild chases and diving falcons.
